A Chinese Ghost Story: The Tsui Hark Animation (1997)

"The story comes from "A Chinese Ghost Story", which was filmed in three consecutive episodes. Tsui Hark's two-dimensional character movements are combined with three-dimensional background computer processing to become a cartoon version. The film took four years to make and combines Japanese animation and traditional Chinese painting styles."
