The CW has announced that The Vampire Diaries has been renewed for a sixth season. There will be a new villain this season, and producers say this villain breaks the show's convention - usually the show's villains are eventually redeemed in some way (either through self-sacrifice or being forgiven by others). But not this villain. This is a really dark, sick, scary guy.
