When Yumiko (played by Makiko Ekaku) was a child, her grandmother always ran away from home, determined to return to the countryside from the city to live out her life, and once she never returned. Later, Yumiko got married and had children, living a poor but happy life. One day, her husband Ikuo (played by Tadanobu Asano) unexpectedly left.
