This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by Kyoko Nakajima. It tells the story of how his father (Tsuto Yamazaki), who was the former principal of a middle school, was diagnosed with cognitive impairment, and how he and his wife Yoko (Tomeko Matsubara) and their two beloved daughters (Yuko Takeuchi, Yu Aoi) spent the rest of the time.
